Departments
Responsibilites include:
- Maintenance and repair of both paved and gravel town roads.
- Paving, blacktopping, and sealing roads.
- Maintenance of ditches, drainage.
- Brush trimming.
- Snow and ice removal. The Town of Wells contracts with Hamilton County for snow and ice removal on all county roads in Wells.
- Culvert placement/maintenance.
- Maintains the condition of all equipment under his jurisdiction.
- Ensures cemeteries, parks, and town properties are kept neatly trimmed and mowed.
- Supervision of the employees of the department.
- Maintains records of all equipment and the crew.
ANNUAL TOWN WIDE SPRING CLEAN-UP
The Highway Department conducts an Annual Spring Clean-up week in May.
